The Greatest Perk of Being an ABNA Quarterfinalist …

abna badge_picI found out on April 16 that I didn’t make the Semifinal cut for the 2013 Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award. Oh, well. Their loss. Seriously, I wish all 5 of the General Fiction Semifinalists all the luck in the world and all the best for their books too. As for my book, it was lucky enough as a Quarterfinalist not only to garner a review from Publishers Weekly–but, thankfully, a good review.

You can read that review right here. I’m grateful for the kind words from PW but, more than that, I’m relieved that, after 6 years of working on “The Leaving of Things,” that the early buzz from those who’ve read the manuscript (so far, readers in my inner circle along with a few book reviewers and contest judges) is that it’s, well, good.

  1. Thanks, Stephen! And thanks for stopping by the site. It’s still in the works. More to come!
